Terms of Service

Effective 14 September 2026

This is a reference translation. The Korean version is the original, and it prevails if the two differ. Read the Korean original.

1. Purpose

These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the mobile application PLUS MINUS (the “service”) provided by hobbyist (“we”), together with the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of both you and us.

2. Definitions

3. Effect and amendment of these terms

  1. These terms take effect when posted in the service or on this page.
  2. We may amend these terms within the limits of applicable law. We post amendments at least 7 days before they take effect, or at least 30 days before where the change is disadvantageous to you.
  3. Continuing to use the service after the effective date is taken as acceptance. If you do not accept, you may stop using the service and close your account.

4. What the service does

We provide the following features.

We determine the details of the service and may change them as it is improved or as operations require.

5. Not a financial service; what the numbers mean

The service is not a financial product or a financial service. It does not connect to bank or card accounts, import real transaction histories, or broker transfers, payments, investments, or loans.

Every amount and calculation the service shows is derived from numbers you entered yourself and is for reference only. It may differ from your actual bank balance or actual spending, and we do not warrant its accuracy. Decisions you make on the basis of these figures, and their consequences, are your own.

6. Accounts

  1. You can use the recording features without signing in. In that case your records are stored only on that device.
  2. Syncing and shared ledgers require signing in with an Apple, Google, or Kakao account.
  3. You must not let anyone else use your account, and you must tell us immediately if you learn it has been used without your permission.
  4. You may close your account at any time from the Settings screen.

7. Shared ledgers

  1. You can pass an invite code to another user so they can join your ledger. Everyone in a shared ledger can view, edit, and delete every entry in it. Only share an invite code with people you trust.
  2. An invite code is replaced with a new one as soon as it is used.
  3. The person who created a ledger may remove members, which issues a new invite code. Members may leave a ledger themselves.
  4. A user who leaves or is removed receives a new ledger containing a copy of the records as they stood at that moment.
  5. We are not involved in, and take no responsibility for, disputes between users over a shared ledger.

8. Your obligations

You must not:

9. Advertising

  1. We may show advertising within the service to sustain it, and you accept that ads are displayed while you use it.
  2. Advertising is supplied through Google AdMob. You can revisit your personalised-ads choice under Settings → Ad privacy settings; handling of advertising identifiers is governed by the Privacy Policy.
  3. We are not responsible for the outcome of your taking part in an advertiser’s promotion or transacting through an advertisement.

10. Storage of your data, and your responsibility

  1. Records made while signed out are stored only on that device. If you delete the app or lose the device they cannot be recovered, and we have no means of recovering them.
  2. Records of signed-in users are held on our servers, but we do not guarantee permanent retention. Please keep your own copy of anything important.
  3. Closing your account deletes your account and the records held on our servers. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

11. Interruption and change of the service

  1. We may suspend all or part of the service where unavoidable, such as for maintenance, a fault, or a communications failure.
  2. Where there is good reason, we may change or discontinue all or part of the service. We give notice before changing or discontinuing a free feature, or afterwards where circumstances make prior notice impossible.
  3. If we shut the service down entirely, we give 30 days’ notice and an opportunity to retrieve your data.

12. Intellectual property

  1. Rights in the service and its contents belong to us. You may not copy, distribute, or commercially exploit them without our prior consent.
  2. Rights in the ledger content you record belong to you. We process it only as far as providing the service requires.
  3. Fonts included in or downloaded through the service are governed by their own licences, which you can read under Settings → Font licences.

13. Limitation of liability

  1. We are not liable for loss arising from causes outside our fault, such as natural disaster, communications failure, or a problem with your device.
  2. We are not liable for the accuracy of what you record in the service, or for decisions you make on the basis of it.
  3. This section does not apply to loss caused by our intent or gross negligence, or to any liability that law does not permit to be limited.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

  1. These terms and your use of the service are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea.
  2. Disputes arising from use of the service may be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
  3. Notwithstanding paragraph 1, if you are a consumer living in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or a similar jurisdiction, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence continue to apply to you, and you may also bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence.
